So what do you say about a battery? It works? Batteries eventually go bad so they have to be replaced. Key is to get a good battery at a good price. I shopped around and found this battery on Amazon.com for 1/2 the price of other batteries of the same type. This battery has a capacity of 4400 mAh... I found several costing more having only 4000 mAh (so watch for that). Battery works fine and holds it's charge as expected. I guess the other question is how many recharge cycles it will take before it starts to degrade. Time will tell. Till then, I'm happy with this product.

While travelling, I can use my macbook for 6 hrs working on word prosessing and can watch about 3hrs of DVD playback with earphones. Ofcourse I have to optimise settings like turning off wireless and bluetooth (which aren't used while in flight), dimming the LCD, closing unnecessary apps etc. Macbook together with this battery is a good piece of engineering from Apple. Only four stars because the battery forms a part of external plastic and isn't something that slides into a casing. Disadvantage is a slight imperfection in fit.

When they say 'original' Apple laptop battery they mean that literally. The battery I received had a serial number ending in U7SB - one of the orginal MacBook Pro battery packs manufactured between February 2006 and May 2006. These batteries were found to be defective and are subject to an Apple product recall. Fortunately, with some persuasion, I was able to convince the local Apple store to exchange the battery pack for an updated one. The Apple battery recall website will not validate you for an exchange unless you have a MacBook Pro with an early serial number.

You think when you first by the laptop that the standard battery is enough. Then you start really working and going places and realize that 1 to 3 hours of battery power just "ain't cuttin' it" - especially on planes trips. You also find that power isn't available everywhere you go either. This battery does really good. Average of about 4 and half hours (I forget to change my power settings but ..... oh well.....) Form fact isn't too bad. Actually gives your laptop an upward tilt for more comfortable typing.

This is one of the best purchases I have EVER made. I pretty much wouldn't be able to function without my laptop between school and work so having this battery has been a miracle. I bought two batteries and a leather case from seller - Dbustore. All item shipped really fast. I got my first battery about 4-5 months ago and bought another 9-Cell battery from the same seller about two weeks ago. Both batteries look like high quality and they work flawlessly and give a strong performance on battery life. The 9-cell battery last much longer than the 6-cell but it's bigger. This 6-cell battery is smaller and easier to carry, which also lasts a good amount of time. I am not really surprise for its long battery life since this is the only 6-cell battery that has 5300mAh capacity.

Overall, I am very happy with this battery for both its quality and long lasting battery life.

As the previous review mentioned before the majority of differences with this battery and an official Apple one are mostly aesthetic. Functionally it works great and holds a charge well if you calibrate it first. I was happily surprised when I found out that the battery's case is indeed aluminum, unfortunately it's not quite the same color as my PowerBook so when you flip the laptop it's glaringly obvious the battery isn't Apple made. Mine also doesn't sit flush on the right side of the computer (sticks out less than the thickness of a dime).

I don't think I'll buy another non-Apple battery for my laptop simply because I prefer the fit and finish of the original Apple battery. However, being that my computer is getting long in the tooth anyway this new battery should at least give me another year of good service before I upgrade to a new laptop.

I've had this battery for just a day, but I'm very happy with the performance so far. I run an HP Dv9000t with Vista Ultimate, so it demands a lot of power. Depending upon what I'm doing, I can get around 3 solid hours from this battery versus the one installed by HP which got around 2 or less. Also, this 12 cell is a fair bit cheaper than standard HP 9 cell. If you don't mind the extra weight and bulk (which bulges out from the bottom of the laptop) than this is the far superior battery.

My Sony SZ laptop worked well for the first 13 months of ownership and then the battery died. Not just poor battery life but outright died - most likely due to an internal short in the battery pack. Checking my warranty information I found that the battery is not covered by the extended warranty I bought, was beyond the one year Sony warranty and not subject to one of Sony's battery recalls. After some serious Googling I learned that the replacement batteries are expensive, generic batteries are about half the cost and some folks have reported bad experiences with generics. When I looked into the generics I did note that the power density was not the same as the Sony branded product - look at the mAh rating and the higher the better. Further Googling evidenced that Amazon was price competitive and I had the assurance of Amazon service. The new battery arrived quickly and is an exact copy of the original I had in my Sony laptop when I bought it. My only wish is that they were cheaper and longer lasting.
